Have you forgotten your iPhone passcode and don't know how to unlock it? If so, then there are two good news. The good news is you don't have to worry. Your iPhone has not been bricked. Using the following solution, you will be able to use it again. The bad news is that if you don't have a backup of your iPhone on your computer or in iCloud, all current data on your iPhone will never be restored!
This article discusses some solutions that you can use to unlock a locked iPhone without a password or Face ID. It's highly recommended to use the professional iPhone unlocker to unlock your iPhone when you neither have Restore nor Find My iPhone enabled.
If you have ever backed up iPhone X to your computer via iTunes and disabled "Find My iPhone" on your iPhone. Then, congratulations! You can use iTunes to restore your device from backup when you get locked. To do that, connect your iPhone X to a trusted computer that you have previously synced with. In iTunes, locate to your device, then click the Restore button. Follow the onscreen instructions. After done, your device might be able to use again.
If you've never synced your device with your computer or could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode, in this situation, you might need to use recovery mode to unlock your iPhone X.
Recovery mode is the most used way to restore iPhone to factory setting when the process of restoring the device from backup fails and iTunes no longer detects the device when you connect it.
Step 1: Open the Finder or iTunes app on a Mac or PC.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone X to the computer with USB cable.
Step 3: Then follow the steps to boot iPhone X into Recovery Mode.
Step 4: A window pops up in iTunes offering to let you Update or Restore the phone. Click Update. This tries to resolve the problem by updating the operating system and without erasing your data. If Update fails, put your iPhone into recovery mode again and this time click Restore, which erases all settings and content.
Step 5: After the Restore completes, set up your device.
Note: This process will take a long time to complete. Sometimes it puts the iPhone into recovery mode and it's hard to exit recovery mode. If you want to use an easy-to-use and time-saving method, see How to use the tool to unlock your iPhone lock screen password.
This option involves using iCloud and Find My iPhone to erase all data and settings from your phone. This way works only if you have "Find My iPhone" enabled on your iPhone.
Step 1: You can either sign in to icloud.com/find or use the Find My app on a second iOS device.
Step 2: Log in with the Apple ID and password that used on the locked iPhone.
If you have enabled two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, then a message with a verification code should be sent to your devices. Because the device is locked, you don't enter the code to continue. In this situation, go to the next method to see how to unlock your locked iPhone X without passcode via tool.
Step 3: In the Devices list, tap the device you want to remove. Click Erase iPhone.
Step 4: When prompted, enter the password to continue.
This will delete all data on the device, including passcode, Apple ID password, and iCloud Activation lock. If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it connects to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. You receive an email when the device is erased.
Step 5: When the device is erased, tap Remove This Device, then tap Remove.
After removing your iPhone, you can set up and use your device.
