Tip 2: Remove Old Version Backups of File History

If you've configured File History to keep your personal files constantly backed up you'd better clean up old version backups regularly. Since turning on File History backups can quickly use a large amount of storage and shrinking the available space that you could use for other storage.

Tip 3: Uninstall unnecessary Applications and Programs

Uninstalling applications you rarely use or the space-hungry applications can help to free up some space too. You can check the current space they're take up go to Start menu, select Settings > System > Apps & features.

Then Identify the applications you don't need and are using the most space on your computer. Select an app and click the Uninstall button.

Windows uses a NTFS file system, which offers a built-in file compression feature. This feature allows you to compress files that you use rarely, while still allowing you to access them normally when required. It's useful to compress MS Office documents that you need to keep.

Tip 5: Use Cloud Storage Service or External Hard Drives to Store Backups

There are many ways to back up your data, the best option is to use Cloud Storage Online Service to back up files, and store System image or System folders to an external drive.

Step 1: Go to Control Panel, click System and security.
