The Switch User Interface is for fast user switching, but occasionally for some reason, you may don\u2019t want it and wonder if you can remove or hide it. Now in this post, I will show you two ways to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/hide-fast-user-switching-in-windows-10-8-7\">hide fast user switching in Windows 10\/8\/7<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#way1\">Way 1: with Group Policy Editor<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#way2\">Way 2: with Registry Editor<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"way1\"><strong>Way 1: Hide fast user switching with Group Policy Editor<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Step 1: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/open-local-group-policy-editor-in-windows-10\/\">Open Local Group Policy Editor in Windows 10<\/a> by searching gpedit.msc in Start.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Under Local Computer Policy, expand <strong>Computer Configuration<\/strong>, <strong>Administrative Templates<\/strong>, <strong>System<\/strong>, and <strong>Logon<\/strong>. With the <strong>Logon<\/strong> selected, locate the policy named &#8220;Hide entry points for Fast User Switching&#8221; and double-click it to configure it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"404\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2122\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/hide-fast-user-switching.png\" alt=\"hide fast user switching\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/hide-fast-user-switching.png 650w, https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/hide-fast-user-switching-300x186.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Select Enabled, and click Apply followed by OK. That\u2019s it. This will disable fast user switching and hide the Switch User interface in the Login UI, the Start menu and the Task Manager.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"660\" height=\"525\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2123\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/enabled.png\" alt=\"select enabled\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/enabled.png 660w, https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/enabled-300x239.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"way2\"><strong>Way 2: Hide fast user switching with Registry Editor<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you use the Home edition of Windows 10\/8\/7, the Group Policy Editor may not be used. In this case, you can hide fast user switching with Registry Editor. Here are steps.<\/p>\n<p>Step 1: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/access-registry-editor-in-windows-10\/\">Open Registry Editor in Windows 10<\/a> by searching regedit in Start.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Navigate to the key: <em>Computer\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policy\\System<\/em>. Under the System key, find the value named &#8220;HideFastUserSwitching&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"457\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2124\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/hidefastuserswitching-value.png\" alt=\"hidefastuserswitching value\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/hidefastuserswitching-value.png 700w, https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/hidefastuserswitching-value-300x196.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If the &#8220;HideFastUserSwitching&#8221; value doesn\u2019t exist under the System key, create one by the following the two steps.<\/p>\n<p>1) Right-click in the blank space of the right-side pane, point to &#8220;New&#8221;, and then select &#8220;DWORD (32-bit) Value&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"363\" height=\"191\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2125\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/new-value.png\" alt=\"create new key\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/new-value.png 363w, https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/new-value-300x158.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2) Rename the new value <strong>HideFastUserSwitching<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Double-click the &#8220;HideFastUserSwitching&#8221; value, and change its value data from <strong>0<\/strong> to <strong>1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"332\" height=\"199\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2126\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/set-value.png\" alt=\"change value data to 1\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/set-value.png 332w, https:\/\/www.isumsoft.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/set-value-300x180.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 332px) 100vw, 332px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 4: Now, you can bring up the Start menu to check if the Switch User interface is hidden.
