Did you find that the Windows 10 operating system was not activated? When you make a significant hardware change to your device, such as replacing the motherboard or upgrade your computer's hard drive to the best SSD, Windows 10 might no longer be activated. There are several ways to activate Windows 10 for free, you'll need either a 25-character product key or a digital license to activate it.
Digital licenses are associated with your hardware and linked to your Microsoft account and can activate your copy of Windows once your PC is connected to the internet and you log in to your Microsoft account. This activation method is for any user who upgrades a genuine copy of Windows 7 | Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.
1. During Windows 10 installation, select I don't have a product key when prompted to activate.
2. Setup and sign in with your Microsoft account and connect to the internet, you will be activated.
3. You'll be able to check whether Windows has activated.
Make sure you associate your Microsoft account to your digital license to prepare for hardware changes.
If you have a product key, then you can use Change product key to activate Windows 10.
To enter the product key, select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Activation. Under the Update product key, click Change product key, then enter a product key that match with your Windows 10 edition.
Step 1: Open Command Prompt as administrator.
In the Search box, type in cmd, and then choose Run as administrator.
Step 2: Install KMS client key.
Use the command "slmgr /ipk yourlicensekey" to install a license key. If you find other keys for Windows 10 Pro, you can replace it with the key in the command line after slmgr /ipk as shown in the following figure.
slmgr /ipk W269N-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
Step 3: Use the following command lines to connect to a KMS server and activate your Windows. Remember to hit Enter after you type each line.
slmgr /skms kms.xspace.in
slmgr /ato
Step 4: If you want to check whether your Windows is activated or not, type slmgr.vbs -xpr and hit Enter.
Step 1: Open Command Prompt as administrator (Win+X, A).
Step 2: In the Command Prompt window, run this command line "slmgr.vbs /upk", hit Enter key.
Step 3: Use this command line to install the Windows 10 Enterprise product key.
slmgr /ipk NPPR9-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
Step 4: Then use these command line and hit Enter.
slmgr /skms zh.us.to
slmgr /ato
