How to Use Touch ID to Unlock iPhone/iPad

If you have set up Touch ID on your device, you can use it to unlock the screen of iPhone/iPad every time you wake it up from sleep. This article will show you how to unlock iPhone/iPad screen with Touch ID.

How to Enable Touch ID to Unlock iPhone/iPad

Once enabled Touch ID fingerprint scanning feature on your device, it allows you to unlock the screen of your device whenever you wake it.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, enter the passcode if you have set.

Step 2: Then you can switch the button next to iPhone Unlock on.

Step 3: To unlock iPhone/iPad, touch the Home button with your finger while the phone waking up.

Unlock your iOS 10 Device Without Pressing the Home Button

In iOS 10, you need to press the Home button using Touch ID to unlock your device. If you don't like, change it into unlocking your device using Touch ID as follows:

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap General > Accessibility > Home Button and turn on Rest Finger to Open.
