How to Restore iCloud Backups in iPhone X8/7S/7S Plus or iPad

1. Restore your device to factory settings

What if you are getting stuck like Case 3 or Case 4, your iPhone/iPad is unresponsive, don't worry, you can get the issue fixed by restoring with iTunes but all data on your device will get erased, here's how:

Step 1: Connect your iPhone/iPad to Mac or PC with included USB cable.

Step 2: Open iTunes. If asked for a passcode, try another computer you've synced with, or use recovery mode.

iTunes will automatically detect the connected iPhone/iPad, and display the iPhone-like icon in its upper left corner. Click device icon.

If you forgot Restrictions passcode, follow these steps below to wipe information from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and restore your device to factory settings.

Step 1: Turn off Find My iPhone/iPad.

Go to Settings app, tap you name > iCloud. Scroll down to Find My iPhone, tap it and turn it off. Enter the Apple ID password for the account listed and tap Turn Off.

Go to Settings app > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Then tap Erase iPhone (or iPad) to confirm that you want to do this. Then, enter Apple ID and password.


2. Restore iPhone/iPad backup for iCloud

Once the device is erased, you'll see Hello screen in the Setup Assistant, you can start to setup as a new device. To restore iCloud backups, use these steps:

Step 1: When reaching Apps & Data screen, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.

Step 2: Sign in to iCloud with Apple ID. Then tap Next to continue.

Step 3: Choose the most recent backups. After you choose, the transfer starts.

Step 4: When asked, sign in to your Apple ID account to restore your apps and purchases.

Step 5: Wait for restoring, the time it takes depends on the size of the backup and the network speed.
