2 Ways to Make 3D Touch Serve Well for iPhone 6s User

3D Touch lets you press firmly to get new functionality, but the old touch and hold functionality is still there. Some 3D Touch users may get frustrated on moving or deleting the apps on home screen. Here provides the way to adjust 3D Touch sensitivity and the way to delete or move apps on home screen to make the new feature serve well for user.

Part 1: You can adjust 3D Touch setting to make it easier or harder to trigger, as you need.

By default 3D Touch is enabled and set to "medium" pressure on a new, out-of-the-box iPhone 6s. But there's a way deep within the iOS Settings app to change how much pressure is required for 3D Touch.

Way to adjust 3D Touch sensitivity:

1. In Settings choose General and then Accessibility. Scroll down to the fourth grouping of accessibility options where you'll find the new first item is a 3D Touch menu.

2. In 3D Touch menu, users can choose to turn 3D Touch on or off entirely, or adjust the sensitivity required for it to work. Apple offers three options: light, medium, or firm.

Part 2: Use touch not press to move or delete apps.

Even on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, and even with 3D Touch, you still move and delete apps the same as always. You just have to be more careful about it. 3D Touch works with pressure, app moving and deleting does not.

Now if you press hard, you engage 3D Touch. So the trick is to not press at all. Just touch:

  • 1. Go to your Home screen.
  • 2. Touch your finger down lightly on an app icon you want to move or delete.
  • 3. Wait a few seconds. Then tap the delete icon which in the left-up corner of the apps.

Tips: If the screen blurs or the quick actions pop up, you're pressing too hard. Lighten up and try again. You'll get the hang of it, it just takes a little time.
