How to Check and Repair Bad Sectors on USB Flash Drive

If your USB flash drive become either inaccessible or unwritable properly, it usually contains some bad sectors. Bad sectors can cause data loss on your USB flash drive. While Drive errors can usually be caused by bad sectors. This guide describes how to filx bad sectors using Windows drive error ckecking tool.

Repair bad sectors with Windows built-in CHEDSK.EXE tool

1. Press Win+E to open Windows Explorer.

2. In the navigation pane, click Computer so that your drives appear in the right pane.

3. Select that USB drive you want to repair. Right-click and select Properties.

4. On Tools tab, under Error-checking, hit Check now.

5. In the Check Disk windows, check Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors boxes, then click Start.

If you are using Windows 10 PC, click Scan and repair drive.
