How to Update Your iPhone/iPad to iOS 11

iOS 11 is available to public now, it is coming with many brilliant new features, makes your iPhone/iPad become more powerful and convenience devices. This guide describes 2 ways to update iPhone or iPad to iOS 11. You can install the iOS 11 on your iPhone/iPad directly, or using iTunes.

Here is the list of compatible devices that can run iOS 11:

  • iPhone: iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s.
  • iPad: 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation, 12.9-inch iPad Pro 1st generation, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 5th generation, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2.
  • iPod: iPod touch 6th generation.

Way 1: Update iPhone/iPad to iOS 11 on Settings

When iOS updates are available to download, your device often reminders you to install the latest version. Before updating, we highly suggest backup your iPhone/iPad in case your device goes wrong, leading to data lost. Plug your device into power, and connect your device to the Internet with Wi-Fi.

Step 1: Go to Settings app.

Step 2: Tap General > Software Update. Tap Download and Install.

Step 3: Follow the prompt: Enter your passcode.

Step 4: Tap on Agree on Terms and Conditions, tap on Agree to confirm.

Step 5: Tap Install Now to start the update process. wait for it downloading and installing iOS 11.

Way 2: Update iPhone/iPad to iOS 11 via iTunes

If you can’t update on your iOS device, you can update manually via iTunes. Here's how:

Note: Back up your iPhone/iPad before you start to update to iOS 11.

Tip: Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes that works with your computer.

Step 1: Connect your device to your computer with included USB cable.

Step 2: Click on Device tab, and choose Summary. Then click Check for Update.

Step 3: Choose Download and Update. Select Agree to confirm.

Step 4: Enter the Passcode on your iPhone or iPad, then click Continue. After rebooting your device, it will be running the new iOS 11.
