How to Enable or Disable Dark Mode in iOS 11 Device

iOS 11 introduces a new accessibility feature called Smart Invert Color. It makes the display more eye-friendly during the night by turning backgrounds from bright to dark colors, so it also called dark mode. This guide describes how to enable or disable dark mode on iPhone or iPad.

How to Enable Smart Invert Color in iPhone/iPad

Step 1: Open Settings app. Tap on General.

Step 2: Open the Accessibility menu.

Step 3: In the Vision area, tap on Display Accommodations.

Step 4: Open Invert Colors menu and toggle on Smart Invert.

Tip: Enabling Smart Invert Colors automatically disables Night Shift mode.

How to Activate Smart Invert Colors Shortcut

To enable or disable via the triple-clicking home button, here's how:

Step 1: Go to Settings app > General.

Step 2: Open the Accessibility menu. Then,scroll down the button of screen.

Step 3: Tap on Accessibility Shortcut. then select Smart Invert Color.

Next time, you can enable or disable Smart Invert Color by triple-clicking home button.

How to Quickly Enable Smart Invert from Control Center

If you add Accessibility Shortcuts to Control Center, you can manage your Accessibility Shortcuts from Control Center. Here's how:

Step 1: Open Settings app.

Step 2: Tap on Control Center.

Step 3: Tap Customize Controls, which will take you to the Customize menu.

Step 4: Tap the add button (+) next to Accessibility Shortcuts under More Controls.

Step 5:  Enable or disable Smart Invert Color from Control Center.

Swipe up from the bottom of screen to open Control Center, press Accessibility Shortcut icon, you can access Accessibility Shortcuts menu, then select Smart Invert Color.
