How to Add or Remove a New Keyboard in iPhone/iPad

Apple iPhone has a built-in virtual keyboard that you can use to input text on your device. In order to communicate smoothly, you may need to use different input methods. This tutorial will show you how to add a new keyboard to your iPhone/iPad, as well as show you how to remove a keyboard from iPhone/iPad.


Option 1: Add a Built-in Keyboard to iPhone/iPad

Sometimes you may need to add an additional built-in keyboards for communicating in different languages. To add software keyboards, use these steps:

Step 1: Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards.

Step 2: Tap on Add a New Keyboard, select one keyboard you'd like.

Option 2: Add a third-party keyboard

Apple allows to use custom third-party-keyboard on your iPhone or iPad. To use a third-party keyboard, you need to install it from App Store, and then add it. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to App Store find the keyboard app that you want.

Step 2: Tap Get > Install. Enter your Apple ID password or use Touch ID if it's available on your device.

Step 3: Then add the new keyboard. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add a New Keyboard and select the app that you installed.

Option 3: How to Remove a Keyboard in iPhone/iPad

You can remove any keyboards that you have added, including remove the built-in keyboards, disable emoji keyboard, even delete a third-party keyboard. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Edit.

Step 2: Tap Delete icon, and then tap Delete , finally tap Done
